Espana (don't know how to make the appropriate mark over the 'n', sorry)

Once upon on a time there was a boy and a girl, they fell in love, got married, and two years later found themselves in Almeria, Spain. We decided on Spain because the weather in the UK had been pretty nasty all summer (let's say we went from one of the cloudiest places to the sunniest place in the world). We wanted somewhere warm and inviting and besides the french are well, you know. It was a great way to celebrate our two year anniversary. The weather was great, the beach was close, the hotel roomy, it was like we were the only two people in the city. We spent most days at the beach, and only the last day did we attempt something touristy. Almeria's Alcazaba was really amazing. It was built by the Muslim conquerors in Andalusian Spain and then was further added to by the Christian 'Reconquistas' who eventually 'reconquered' Southern Spain. You can see in the pictures of the Alcazaba, as well as a great one of San Cristobal statue atop the San Cristobal Castle. It was actually really impressive, nicely presented, and free (because we reside in an EU country; sorry, if you go you'll just have to pay). We climbed all over it and took pictures as often as possible. We also included some pictures of the restaraunt that we had lunch in. It was traditional North African food and included a pitcher of delicious fresh lime and mint juice, perfect for a super-hot day. To sum it up, it was an ideal, romantic, gorgeous, relaxing, refreshing, perfect Spanish anniversary.
