The Bounds of Knoxville Visit

We had a lovely visit from Patti and Tommy in late October. Although we haven't managed to post several previous trips, I figure this one is worth jumping the queue.

To the right, the famous Big Ben. Jordan, Tommy, and Patti spent Monday in London, seeing the sites.

I started the year with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. I now have one remaining day left to take. I suppose we've gotten out of town quite a bit, but to me it seems like I need MORE days off!
Anyway, I only had Thursday and Friday off, but Jordan
took the whole week off. They went to see the American Military Cemetary and to London at the beginning of the week. Thursday we left for Edinburgh, Scotland, and came back to Cambridge on Saturday.

This squirrel apparently was very friendly with Tommy, as you can kind of see here.

View from the Endinburgh caste, which sits on a hill in the city.

It was really chilly. In the above photo you can see both Tommy and I purchased new hats on the trip.

This is outside of a little cafe in what used to be a blacksmith's building en route to Edinburgh. It was incredibly windy in the hill country. We got to see lots of sheep grazing or hunkering down to avoid being blown off the hill. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but it makes a point.

In Jordan's squadron.

In front of Cafe Rouge, where we had a delicious lunch on the Saturday Tommy and Patti arrived.

Quayside, Cambridge, where a lot of punting goes on.
